The Mt. Battie Tower, located in Camden, Maine, is a historic landmark with a rich history and significance. It was originally built as the Summit House, a summer hotel, in 1900 by the Mt. Battie Association. However, the hotel was later torn down in 1920 and replaced with the World War I Memorial Tower, which still stands today . The tower was constructed using stones from the original Summit House. It was dedicated as a memorial to the men and women who served in World War I and has since become one of Maine’s most well-known World War I memorials. The tower stands at a height of 26 feet and features a circular staircase and a small bronze plaque on the exterior
