UNICEF is a global organization committed to improving the lives of children worldwide. UNICEF offers various opportunities for individuals to contribute to its mission, including paid internships.
These internships provide valuable work experience in a multicultural environment, allowing individuals to gain insights into international development and humanitarian work. On this page, we will discuss the open positions and the application
Open Positions
UNICEF offers a wide range of internship opportunities across various sectors and locations. Some common areas include communication, finance, human resources, information technology, logistics, program management, and research.
Internships can be found in UNICEF offices worldwide or at the headquarters located in New York City.
To view current internships, visit the UNICEF careers website and search for “internship” under the “Job Type” filter.
Application Process
To apply for a UNICEF internship, follow these steps:
1.Visit the UNICEF careers website and create an account if you don’t already have one. This will allow you to save your application progress and receive updates on your application status.
2.Search for available internship positions based on your preferred location and field of interest using the job search filters provided on the website. Click on the job title for more details about the position and requirements.
3.Prepare your application materials: A cover letter explaining why you are interested in the position and how it aligns with your career goals; a CV or resume; academic transcripts; and two letters of recommendation (optional). Ensure that all documents are saved as PDF files before uploading them during the application process to avoid any formatting issues or compatibility problems with different web browsers or operating systems.
4.Complete the online application form by providing personal information such as contact details, education history, work experience, language skills, and other relevant information required by UNICEF for each position you apply to individually (some positions may require additional questions). Make sure that all information is accurate and up-to-date before submitting your application as it may impact your eligibility for consideration or affect communication regarding next steps in the selection process if selected as a candidate for an interview or assessment center session invitation (if applicable).
5.Submit your application before the deadline indicated on each job posting to ensure that it is considered during the initial screening phase by UNICEF recruitment teams responsible for reviewing applications submitted through their online system (applications received after deadlines may not be considered). Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted directly by UNICEF recruitment teams via email with further instructions regarding interviews or assessments if they are selected as candidates for those stages of the selection process (if applicable). It is important to note that due to high volumes of applications received by UNICEF annually, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly regarding their applications’ statuses or next steps in the selection process (if applicable). Candidates who do not receive any communication from UNICEF within 6 weeks after applying should assume that their applications were not successful but are welcome to apply again when new opportunities become available that align with their career goals and qualifications.
