AGRO-WELL — Smart Farming Solutions ( Up to €37,500 per project)

The AGRO-WELL invites startups, SMEs, research institutes, NGOs, and commercial farms developing smart farming technologies using AI, robotics, augmented reality (AR), data tools or automation to submit proposals to demonstrate and validate their solutions on commercial farms. Selected projects receive up to €37,500 per project to carry out 12–18-month demonstrations starting in October 2026 across greenhouse, open-field or pig farming systems. The call is open to applicants and small consortia (up to 3 partners) based in EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries. The deadline to apply is 04 February 2026.

Venture For ClimateTech — Early-Stage Climate Technology ( Up to US$50 thousand)

Venture For ClimateTech is a global venture studio and accelerator program that supports early-stage climate technology innovators. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in non-dilutive funding, mentorship, and resources to help entrepreneurs bring their climate solutions to market. Eligible applicants include individuals and teams worldwide with innovations capable of significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in sectors such as buildings, transportation, grid, and industry. The program is conducted virtually over six months, encompassing customer discovery, business model development, and investor engagement. Applications for Cohort 5 are open until 20 February 2026.

Science Park Graz — Startup Idea Competition 2026 ( €2 thousand)

The Science Park Graz invites young inventors to submit their business ideas to the Startup Idea Competition in one of six categories, including Energy & Environment. The winners in each category will be invited to the award ceremony in Graz, Austria and receive €2 thousand each. The deadline for idea submission is 31 January 2026.

HCLTech — Climate Action Grant ( Up to US$500 thousand)

HCLTech accepts applications for the Climate Action Grant which provides grants to non-governmental organizations combating climate change and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity across the Americas. HCLTech accepts proposals for climate action in focus areas such as wildlife and biodiversity conservation; land and ocean action; clean energy; climate advocacy; campaigns; and climate risk reduction. One NGO will receive US$500 thousand, while two others will receive US$250 thousand each. The application deadline is 18 January 2026.

Seabird Group — Small Grants ( £250 per project)

The Seabird Group supports research, survey, and conservation of seabirds. It awards small grants each year, with priority to Seabird Group members working on Atlantic seabirds. The maximum grant is usually £250 per project. Applications should be submitted by 28 February and 31 October each year.

Fondation Egis — Climate Challenge ( €4,000 per team )

Fondation Egis invites students and young graduates from around the world to submit innovative solutions on the topic: adapting and living together in the face of climate risks. Participants gain access to a range of support to help shape their projects, e.g., workshops and mentors. The top three teams will be awarded €4,000 per team member, along with additional funding to help bring their projects to life during the first 6 months. Projects must be submitted by 28 March 2026.

O’Shaughnessy Ventures — Research, Innovation, and Creativity Grants ( US$100 thousand equity-free grants)

The O’Shaughnessy Fellowships offer US$100 thousand equity-free grants to individuals worldwide pursuing research, creative projects, or innovation. Fellows receive mentorship and support from OSV’s network of experts, founders, and investors. Applicants must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and strong proof of work. Additional US$10 thousand grants are available to select applicants based on the Fellowship application. Awards are open to individuals aged 18+ globally. The early application deadline is 28 February, and the extended deadline is 30 April.

Beit Trust — Support for Community and Conservation Projects in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi ( up to £50 thousand)

The Beit Trust supports projects for health, education, welfare, and the environment in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. Themes include wildlife conservation. Additionally, the Trust’s interests in community welfare include drinking water and irrigation water. Grants do not normally exceed £50 thousand. Applications should be submitted by 31 May 2026.

BBVA Foundation — Awards in Frontiers of Knowledge, Nominations 2026 ( €400 thousand)

The BBVA Foundation annually makes awards to recognize innovative and fundamental advances in science, culture, and collaboration. Thematic areas include ecology and conservation biology; climate change; and development cooperation (among others). In each prize category, BBVA awards €400 thousand plus a diploma and commemorative artwork. The awards are open to individuals and organizations of any nationality. (Note: Self-nomination is not permitted.) The deadline for nomination is 30 June 2026.

Roddenberry Foundation — Catalyst Fund ( from US$2,500 to US$15 thousand)

The Catalyst Fund makes small grants for ideas that are early-stage, unconventional, and innovative. It favors bold ideas that depart from the status quo, and that look at a problem and its solution in a new light. There are no restrictions by theme or place (and may include the subjects of the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Proposals can take the form of cutting-edge products, experimental programs, new services, inventions, etc. Eligibility for funding extends to anyone in the world, individuals and teams. Grants range from US$2,500 to US$15 thousand. The Fund accepts applications on a continuous basis with no deadlines.

Morris Animal Foundation — Wildlife Health (Mammals) – US$100 thousand

The Morris Animal Foundation supports research that advances the health and welfare of mammals. The Foundation invites proposals in three categories: Established Investigator, First Award, & Pilot Study Awards. The maximum duration of an Established Investigator award is 36 months. There is no limit to the budget request, however, the average award is expected to be US$100 thousand. The maximum duration of a Pilot Study award is 12 months, and the total budget cannot exceed $20,000. The maximum duration of a First Award is 24 months, and the total budget cannot exceed US$120 thousand. The application deadline for wildlife/exotics is 11 February 2026.

BBVA Foundation — Awards in Biodiversity Conservation ( €250 thousand)

The BBVA Foundation makes awards for biodiversity conservation in Spain and internationally. The Foundation’s goal is to publicly recognize the work done by conservationist organizations, institutions and agencies in carrying forward environmental conservation policies and projects. For Spain, there is one award of €250 thousand for actions in biodiversity conservation, and another award of €80 thousand for environmental communication. For the rest of the world, there is one award of €250 thousand for actions in biodiversity conservation. Applications for the worldwide award can be submitted in Spanish or English. The deadline for nominations is 30 April 2026.

STEG — Research Grants ( up to £100 thousand)

STEG invites researchers worldwide to apply for funding to support policy-relevant research on structural transformation, productivity, and economic growth in low-income and related countries. Grants can be worth up to £100 thousand to cover research assistance, data collection, travel, and related expenses. Eligible applicants are individual researchers or research teams whose proposals align with STAG’s themes such as data, firms and industrial policy, labour and structural transformation, agricultural productivity, trade and spatial frictions, or public sector roles in growth. Proposals that also address cross-cutting issues like gender, climate change, inequality, and inclusion are encouraged. The deadline for submission is 02 February 2026.

Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Biodiversity Data Mobilization Projects ( up to €120 thousand)

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) funds regional and cross-regional biodiversity data mobilization projects that strengthen capacity to collect, share and apply open biodiversity data in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Pacific. Eligible applicants are legal entities such as research institutions, universities, museums, NGOs or government agencies registered in the eligible regions with demonstrated experience in biodiversity data mobilization, and projects must be non-profit and publish data under open licenses. There are two grant types: regional grants of up to €90 thousand and cross-regional grants of up to €120 thousand, each with a 24-month implementation period. Concept notes must be submitted by 02 February 2026.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology — Community Resilience Prize ( US$50 thousand)

The Macquarie Community Resilience Prize seeks technology-enabled solutions building climate-resilient communities while creating meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities in Brazil, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. The prize is open to organizations, startups, NGOs, social enterprises, and innovators worldwide, particularly those working directly with vulnerable or frontline communities. Selected winners receive US$50 thousand in grant funding. The application deadline is 25 February 2026.

European Commission — STARTS Prize 2026 ( €20 thousand)

STARTS Prize is an innovation challenge of the European Commission honoring innovative artistic projects inspired by technology, industry, and society. Projects from all fields of technological and scientific research and development that have been inspired by art or involve artists as catalysts of novel thinking are eligible. Artists or researchers from all around the world can participate. Two prizes, each with €20 thousand prize money, are awarded. The submission phase ends on 05 March 2026.

Fiat Panis Foundation — Hermann Eiselen Science Award 2026 ( €30 thousand)

The Fiat Panis Foundation makes awards for university thesis and dissertation research in themes of agriculture and natural resources, with a focus on food security in developing countries. The Hermann Eiselen Science Award is made to a young scientist who focuses on helping to reduce hunger and malnutrition through agricultural research. The value of the award is €30 thousand. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2026.
