Steps to log in to the University of Toronto’s student portal
To sign in to the University of Toronto student portal, follow these steps:
- Go to acorn.utoronto.ca — this opens the University of Toronto weblogin (UTORweblogin) screen.
- Enter your UTORid/JOINid and password
- Click on Login in Password
- You’re in. The dashboard opens to your calendar, registration status, and key dates.
Resetting your UTORid password
- Go to utorid.utoronto.ca.
- Choose the option to reset or recover your UTORid password.
- Verify your identity with your student number and the personal details on file.
- Set a new password, then return to the portal and sign in as usual.
If self‑service reset doesn’t work — for example your recovery details are out of date — contact the I&ITS Help Desk directly rather than repeatedly retrying the form.
What you can do once you’re logged in
- Enrol in, drop, or waitlist for courses
- View your timetable, final grades, and academic history
- Check your financial account balance and consolidated invoice
- Update your address, phone number, and emergency contact details
- Order an official transcript

Frequently asked questions
Is ACORN the same as Quercus?
No. ACORN handles enrolment, grades, and finances. Quercus is the separate learning‑management system where courses post materials and assignments. Both use the same UTORid sign‑in.
I’m a new student without a UTORid yet — can I still log in?
Yes. Use the JOINid you were issued when you applied. Switch to your UTORid once it’s activated at the TCard office.
Why is ACORN asking for a code from my phone?
That’s UTORMFA, U of T’s multi‑factor authentication. It’s required for students who have enrolled in it, and adds a second check beyond your password.
